We found the ryokan to be in a great location, just a short distance from the Shimanami Kaido cycle route and with breathtaking views of the Inland sea. The room was large, with a beautiful view of the sea and the 700 year old wooden temple on a hill. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, including the private bathroom and the traditional onsen. The breakfast was delicious, with a healthy dose of fish and other Japanese delicacies.
The walls of the room were thin, which allowed for a bit of noise from other guests.

We had a delightful stay at a charming ryokan by the Seto Inland Sea. Our room had a stunning sea view and traditional Japanese decor. The highlight was the exquisite traditional dinner and breakfast served in our own private dining room. The shared bathroom featured a relaxing hot plunge pool. Such a great experience staying at a traditional Japanese inn! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even with our language barriers. The location was perfect, right near the coast and walking distance to some delicious local eats. Plus, the view from our room was breathtaking! We loved experiencing the Japanese culture through the immaculate service, home-cooked meals, and beautiful gardens.
Not having a lift and having to climb stairs with our luggage. But honestly, it was a small price to pay to stay in such a uniquely traditional and affordable ryokan.

Our stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan was a delightful experience. The beautifully landscaped garden provided a serene backdrop for our evening relaxation. The large and comfortable room had a scenic view of the garden, while the private toilet added convenience. The personalized check-in made us feel welcomed from the start and the hand-painted signs added a special touch. The staff was helpful and accommodating, even with our silly tourist questions. The onsen provided a rejuvenating bathing experience and the ryokan's location made it a perfect stopover for our cycling route. I highly recommend this ryokan for its traditional charm, excellent service, and convenient location.

The kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious and included some of the most exquisite dishes we’ve ever tasted. the private dining room was also a nice touch. the hotel’s location, near the sea and nestled in a quaint neighborhood, provided a serene and romantic atmosphere for our escape. Lastly, the ryokan’s beautiful and well-maintained garden with its colorful foliage added a charming touch to this traditional Japanese experience.
The staff spoke very little English, making communication difficult and awkward at times. the lack of clear signage and directions made finding the hotel a bit of an adventure.
